Chery and Huawei will offer Jetour crossovers for poor Russian youngsters

In 2018, the Chinese Chery founded a sub-brand for young people called Jetour, that is, “Victory Path”. Last year they decided to relaunch the brand, for which they recruited the mobile electronics manufacturer Huawei: it will prepare the electronics on board, including a media system, a projection screen and a third-level autopilot.

Now, Jetour has decided to enter foreign markets, including Russia and Kazakhstan. The basis of the export range is formed by four crossovers, three SUVs and hybrid cars. The flagship of the line will be the Dasheng crossover (photo), which was recently presented.

In terms of size, the novelty is a classmate of the Toyota RAV4, but Dasheng looks much more daring! Which is understandable, given the brand’s youth orientation. Young audiences will also appreciate the media system’s huge touchscreen with a diagonal of 15.6 inches – even the latest Lexus models don’t have this!

But technically, the model repeats Chery crossovers. The basic version of the SUV therefore has a 1.5 liter turbo engine (156 hp, 230 Nm), with which a six-speed ‘mechanics’ or ‘robot’ can be coupled. Drive — front only. Well, where’s the youth to roll out on the “off-roads”…

As for Chery herself, the “heavenly” brand is starting export deliveries of a new version of the flagship Tiggo 8 Pro crossover with a unique, as the manufacturer claims, DHT hybrid transmission. The first foreign country where the novelty will come is Brazil, and then it will reach Russia.
