As Pyotr Shkumatov, head of the ONF working group “Protecting the rights of motorists”, rightly suggests, against the background of the auto parts crisis, drivers began to realize that, having become the culprit of an accident, they did not would be able to cover the victim’s loss as well as repair their own car.
“That is why today even former opponents of OSAGO and those who refused to insure their civil liability in violation of the law of the Russian Federation, have started buying policies,” Shkumatov notes.
One of the decisive factors was also the launch of the reinsurance pool on April 20 of this year. It significantly increased the availability of OSAGO, especially for regions where there are many insurance fraudsters.
According to insurers, today 4% of all valid OSAGO policies fall on false “car citizens”. But these are official statistics, containing only “solved crimes”. And how many drivers drive with fictitious documents without knowing it?
Obviously, the percentage of “left-wing” policies is much higher, and a large number of car owners are at risk of running into scammers. But how can you protect yourself against that? The answer to this question was found by the AvtoVzglyad portal.
