In the current issue of the Government Gazette President’s decision Changes have been made to the customs tax practices applied to imports. This decision is important because, in accordance with the decision number 5902, some null models have been brought to Turkey. in electric cars Customs duties are not applied. 10% for those who come from some countries customs duty will be applied.

According to the president’s decision, additional customs duties on new models of electric cars imported from countries of the European Union, countries of the European Free Trade Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Kosovo, Iran and Venezuela won’t happen. With this; Customs duties on electric cars imported from countries under the Generalized System of Preferences (GTS) and other countries 10 percent will be applied.

The price of some electric cars will rise

Additional customs duty on electric cars in previous periods has not been implemented. However, with the decision in today’s Official Gazette, this situation has changed. Electric cars imported from GTS countries and other countries are now with 10% addition they will enter our country.

The decision in the Government Gazette reads as follows:

  • Belarus
  • Australia
  • Canada

Presidential Decree No. 5902 in the Government Gazette, 15 days later will come into effect.
