One of the biggest problems now hindering the rhythmic work of Russian car factories is the serious shortage of electronic components. After all, the world electronics giants refused to supply domestic manufacturers with their chips, and Chinese factories are overloaded with orders from their customers. Plus, spikes of covid also interfere with regular circuit board shipments.
However, a way out of the difficult situation seems to have been found: according to representatives of the Moscow company Mikron, they have created a wide range of Russian chips especially for the automotive industry. The range includes both standard chips and chips adapted to specific manufacturers.
In general, Mikron Group has the status of the largest producer and exporter of microelectronics of Russian companies. Now more than 700 types of products are produced in the areas of the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”, 32 of which are aimed at the automotive industry. Soon the engineers promise to print about fifty more titles.
Meanwhile, the shortage of electronics hit the new LADA Vesta NG hardest – due to the lack of components, the LADA Izhevsk plant has been shut down for half a year. And, as the employees assure, conveyor belts won’t start moving until the second half of 2023.
However, at the beginning of the year, AVTOVAZ managed to assemble several hundred restyled sedans and station wagons from the flagship family. For a long time, this edition was “marinated” in factory warehouses, but now the leadership of the car giant has decided to send the cars to dealers.
