AvtoVAZ returns to the five-day schedule and launches the line where Renault was assembled

The Togliatti car factory is slowly returning to normal work rhythm: it has been decided to return to the pace of car production before the crisis. This means the company’s refusal of the current abbreviated schedule – a four-day work week. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

AvtoVAZ assembly lines will switch from a four-day to a five-day working week from August 15. This is reported by the trade union organization of the company after a conversation with the management of the factory. LADA Granta’s production line will operate in two shifts from Monday to Friday. The LADA Niva assembly line is also switching to a five-day shift, but in one shift. In this mode, the production will not take long, only two weeks. From August 29, Granta has been rolling off the assembly line in two shifts from Monday to Saturday, and Niva – the same six days a week, but in one shift.

In addition, it is planned to launch a new line – for assembling models on the B0 platform – immediately from the end of August in a six-day schedule and in two shifts. Previously, LADA Largus, LADA Xray, Renault Logan and Renault Sandero left it. Which of these models AVTOVAZ will produce from the end of August has not yet been officially announced. We are most likely talking about LADA Largus, whose production resumption was previously and more than once announced by factory management. It is possible that the Xray model will accompany him on the conveyor belt, although some media have already “buried” it.

But it is probably not worth dreaming about Renault Logan and Renault Sandero, as the rights to their trademarks still belong to the French who left Russia.

Recall that the maximum capacity of the B0 line in Togliatti is 60 vehicles per hour. In any case, the regime of a two-shift six-day working week will last until November 27, 2022. It can be assumed that with the maximum load on the conveyor belt, AVTOVAZ will be able to produce about 78,000 vehicles of the B0 family in three months. In general, there will be no shortage.
