Special operation traffic police, restart LADA Vesta and huge increase in car prices: results of the week

It seems that the country’s car life is slowly getting better: AVTOVAZ presented a number of new products and tire factories are going back to work. At the same time, prices for fuel, spare parts and cars are skyrocketing. While this is not the only thing motorists are now concerned about, vigilant traffic cops have also become more active. And more about the main events of the outgoing week – in the video review of the AvtoVzglyad portal.

AVTOVAZ became the main newsmaker of the outgoing week. First, the Volzhans complemented the current model year’s Granta family with #CLUB and Quest versions. Second, we shipped several hundred updated Vesta sedans and estate cars to dealers. Thirdly, they officially announced the transfer of production of their flagship from Izhevsk to Togliatti. And fourthly, they announced a new e-Largus – vans and “sheds” with an electrical installation.

Meanwhile, Russia’s tire factories are also “stirring”. In Kaluga, Continental rubber production resumed, and in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad, where Nokian tires were previously produced, they announced their intention to produce tires under the new brand. Iranian suppliers were also called upon to support the Russian segment. In addition, they are ready to help not only with rubber, but also with microchips.

Another question is, why do we need Iranian microelectronics when we will soon have them? Representatives of the capital “Mikron” said that they have already made a wide range of Russian chips for the auto industry and plan to expand it in the future. It’s great, of course. For that reason alone, cars have not increased in price, otherwise everything around them will quickly become more expensive.

So, last week at the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, fuel prices rose significantly – diesel, 92nd and 95th gasoline. In addition, it became known how much the cost of spare parts and used cars has risen: before watching our video overview, you should stock up on Corvalol. But if you’re going on a road trip south, it’s better to leave the drug at home – it may raise questions from the vigilant traffic police officers who have launched a new “special operation.”
