Chery presents two new sedans in Russia

Representatives of the Chinese automaker Chery discussed plans to expand into the Russian market. Despite the difficulties in the country’s economy, the company has no intention of slowing down. This year dealers already have a crossover under the Omoda brand and next year we are waiting for a few more new products.

Vladimir Shmakov, director of Chery Automobiles JSC, told the AvtoVzglyad portal about the plans for the development of Chery in Russia during a press conference on the occasion of the start of cooperation with FC Spartak.

The top manager noted that in times of crisis, the brand only increased its activity and strengthened its positions. For example, in the covid 2020, the Exeed premium brand appeared in our country (at the beginning it was Cheryexeed), and now the manufacturer is launching the Omoda brand. So the Omoda C5 crossover will be hitting dealers soon.

Next year, the company plans to show two sedans, whose names will be kept secret. Let’s assume one of them will be Chery Arrizo 8, which will be shown this spring. “Eight” is the passenger flagship of the brand and in the current circumstances can compete with market leaders such as Toyota Camry and Kia K5. Admittedly, Chery is a little more compact and simple. In addition, the Arrizo 8 could take root in corporate fleets and carsharing as companies update their vehicles next year.

The second sedan may be a model similar in size to the Hyundai Solaris. It will only focus on carsharing.
