Why in Abkhazia en masse refuse to sell gasoline to car owners at gas stations?

According to the agency Interfax, there was a shortage of petrol and diesel in Abkhazia. Retail gas stations often refuse to sell fuel to drivers. The reason for this is interruptions in the supply of petroleum products.

The strong increase in passenger traffic during the holiday season has led to a reduction in fuel stocks. Not calculated or on purpose – the answer to this question, unfortunately, no. But the local authorities have already promised to hastily arrange the shipment of oil products, and therefore essential goods.

“In the current situation, the volume of freight transport has decreased, the time for the delivery of goods by rail has increased to 1-1.5 months instead of 10-15 days. The Ministry of Economy and the Abkhaz Railway are working with the Russian Railways to advance trains with goods sent to Abkhazia. The priority is the supply of oil products, food products, wheat flour,” reports the Ministry of Economy of Abkhazia.

Meanwhile, it was decided to oblige car tourists from other countries in Abkhazia to take out insurance – an analogue of the Russian OSAGO. Now any local traffic cop can fine a driver with a foreign license plate of 600 rubles if he does not have a policy with him.
