We understand in practice: what motorists really think about toll roads
Every year, more and more truck drivers “leave” for “scarves,” as high-speed highways save carriers time, money, and even nerves. In theory at least. How is it going in practice? Why transport companies actually prefer toll roads and what specifically helps to reduce operating costs, the AvtoVzglyad portal discovered after talking to a representative from CLC Logistic.

Let’s start by explaining why we turned to CLC Logistics. This company has been in the market for more than 10 years and operates in all regions of our expanse, supplying home appliances, clothing, everyday utensils, children’s toys and industrial goods. The fleet comprises about 1000 trucks and the company is developing rapidly.

CLC Logistics drivers use toll roads quite often. The company does not keep statistics that would clearly show the ratio between high-speed highways and ordinary routes, but they assure that at least half of all flights are put on the “scarves”. Why? Mainly through time savings: drivers who do not stand still in traffic jams have time to deliver more. But there are also other reasons.

So as one of the main advantages of toll roads, CLC Logistic mentions the safety and quality of the route. Firstly, the driver feels calmer and more comfortable, and secondly, this has a positive effect on the resource of the elements of the walking and steering systems. Therefore, they can be serviced less frequently. Plus, you can cruise highways and save fuel, and reduce overall mileage.

An important role is also played by the presence of emergency services on toll roads, highly qualified specialists ready to assist the driver in the best possible way. And it’s curious that although CLC Logistic’s drivers have never had to contact them, the company knows that the “emergency committees” are quickly on the scene and can really help. Probably heard similar stories from colleagues.

As for the payment method, CLC Logistic prefers T-pass transponders. This is explained by the fact that it is easier for management to control the costs of drivers, because there is one account to which all devices are linked, and it is much easier for the driver himself with a transponder.

Thinking about what the company would like to see on toll roads, his representative mentioned the expansion of the network of “tested” gas stations, technical centers. The most serious work is being done in this direction, and it can be said with certainty that more gas stations will open on highways in the near future. And even more than that – whole multifunctional service areas (the AvtoVzglyad portal talked about this in more detail).

The first full-fledged MFZ is being built on the new M-12 Moscow-Kazan highway. Rather, they are already being built – along with the track. Incidentally, CLC Logistic is very much waiting for this high-speed road. And why, you can find out in the video interview of the AvtoVzglyad portal with a company representative, which is published here.
