Much has been said about the fact that Iranian companies want to bring us technically obsolete cars. They differ from their “ancestors” only in a different form of bumpers, optics and small innovations in the cabin. This is all true, but it is the “condoness” of “Iranomobiles” that can help them gain a foothold in the Russian market.
Let’s not forget the automotive industry for starters. All “our brands” have always been scolded for the disgusting quality of components. For example, water pumps on VAZ engines still raise questions. On numerous forums, car owners are fiercely arguing about which pump to install so that it does not get stuck. The same can be said about the “survivability” of timing belts, spark plugs and suspension components.
As for Chinese cars, they are already actively offering supercharged power units, in which they officially recommend pouring 92nd gasoline. But a modern engine with a high compression ratio will not be happy with such fuel. Explosion can occur, leading to expensive repairs in the long run. Many people forget this.
“Robots” also take their toll, being much softer than classic “automatic machines”. They do not like abrupt starts and in winter they need to warm up. And you don’t do that in the parking lot, but on the move. If the driver prefers to drive, the life of the bucket is short.
The Iranians, on the other hand, bring to us cars, which know how to maintain and repair many services. Thus, the SAIPA P90 sedan is nothing more than the well-known first generation Renault Logan in Russia. The car is known for its indestructibility and there are no problems with spare parts. And let them say that plastic is cheaper than in Lada. But in terms of reliability, the P90 will open up opportunities for many. That’s why the Iranians will buy. Just to change the name.
Another sedan is Khodro Tara, ie a modified Peugeot 301. In the front are MacPherson struts and at the rear is a semi-independent torsion axle suspension. Everything is simple and painfully familiar. By the way, the 301st was distinguished by an excellently tuned undercarriage, which Tara probably inherited. A 1.6-liter engine in combination with “mechanics” will also not cause problems, because it is quite easy to repair and maintain. From this we conclude that the sedan will be appreciated in taxis and carsharing, as well as among buyers in the regions. That is why, in the current reality, proven technical solutions will only benefit both sellers and our brother.
