
Chinese automaker Dongfeng has launched a new Mengshi sub-brand. This name translates as “Warrior”. Among them, the Chinese plan to sell SUVs similar to the legendary American Hummer. But Mengshi’s powertrains will be innovative.
Two concepts were shown at the ongoing Chengdu Motor Show under the Mengshi brand: the five-door M-Terrain and the three-door M-Terrain S. The cars are distinguished by a bold design with many chopped lines. It doesn’t exactly copy the features of the legendary Hammer, but something similar can be traced in these forms.
The three-door M-Terrain S differs from the larger model only in a more compact body layout and different bumpers. And the car is also distinguished by a sloping roofline, which, of course, reduces the size of the cabin, but on the outside the SUV looks beautiful and sporty.
As for the power units, an electrical installation will first appear, consisting of two electric motors with a total power of 1070 hp. Of. And soon there will be a hybrid modification with an efficiency of 816 hp. Of. The five-door M-Terrain is expected to debut in 2023, followed by the three-door.
