Tire manufacturer Nokian Tires completes the collection of proposals from potential buyers of its plant in Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad region. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” provides details.

At the beginning of September, the collection of “binding offers” from companies that want to take over Nokian tire production in the Leningrad region will end. At the beginning of this summer, the Finnish manufacturer decided to stop its activities in Russia and justified this move with Western sanctions.

Until recently, the company produced more than 15 million tires per year. Most of them, about 60%, were exported abroad. According to Kommersant, Nokian’s Russian manufacturing assets may be claimed by commercial structures indirectly linked to Russian companies that control the production of Kama Tires brand tyres. In addition, the plant in Vsevolozhsk could be of interest to the company AEON, which specializes in chemical production.

Earlier, AvtoVzglyad reported that the Nokian plant in the Leningrad region was ready to produce tires under a new brand. This information was shared about a month ago by the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko.
