AVTOVAZ saves the domestic market

As of August 29, all AVTOVAZ companies switched to a full working week. And at the assembly plant in Togliatti, a six-day working week was introduced with a sliding day off. Everything indicates that healthcare is starting to tackle the complexity of the crisis moment.

“Today we have switched to a full-fledged five-day work schedule and the car assembly complex in Togliatti will operate six days a week with a sliding day off. These measures are necessary to meet the demand for new LADA cars, which has grown significantly thanks to the low-cost loan program introduced by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, said Maxim Sokolov, president of the company. The top executive also noted that additional recruitment for assembly lines will begin in the fall.

Recall that today the car giant produces three models. This is Granta in two versions: “offroad” Cross Classic and sport Drive Active. Production of the famous “mud mixers” – Niva Legend and Niva Travel – has also resumed. Factory workers “Grante” were able to return the air conditioner, airbags and the ERA-GLONASS complex. Next in line is the ABS system, which is rumored to be from a Chinese manufacturer. It is expected in 2023.

As for other models, at the beginning of August, the production of LADA Vesta was transferred from Izhevsk to Tolyatti. The family’s production is expected to resume next spring. And in Izhevsk, the production of electric Largus will be launched, and they will also continue to produce spare parts for Vesta.
