
AvtoVAZ admits that production of the LADA Largus electric car could start as early as next year. Prototypes appear first, then the first test batch is released. And if all goes well, then mass production of a commercial electric traction heel will begin in commercial quantities.
– The first prototypes – I draw your attention: a highly localized electric car – will appear at the end of this year, after which we expect to launch an experimental batch. I will not say serial – experimental, but although it may come to a small series in a year, – said the head of AVTOVAZ Maxim Sokolov on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Recall that the production of e-Largus will be located in Izhevsk, where the LADA Vesta family was previously assembled. Until the spring of 2023, the Vesta assembly will be transferred to Tolyatti.
In developing the Electrolagrus, the designers followed the path taken when creating the LADA Ellada. Recall that it was based on the LADA Kalina station wagon. With e-Largus, an electric motor is installed under the hood and traction batteries are placed both under the hood and near the rear seats for optimal weight distribution of the car.
