How taxi companies will replace Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and Kia K5
While official dealers and representatives of foreign car brands in Russia experience a shortage of cars, the earth continues to turn strangely, as taxi drivers turn the planet with millions of wheels. And no politician can stop this super profitable business. In every joke there is a truth, and in every problem there is a way to solve it. The AutoVzglyad portal will tell how fleets will get around the problem of the shortage of Toyota Camry and Kia K5.

The cost of a brand new Toyota Camry has passed the mark of 5,000,000 rubles, Kia K5 – we write three million, four – we keep in mind. With such prices, the profitability of the process rushes to zero, because the price of the trip does not rise, but the payment and maintenance of the loan – very much. And if the latter allows you to “feint with your ears”, maintain the car with non-original spare parts and perform service in the garage, then such a trick will not work with the former. The bank will get her anyway.

On the other hand, the service is currently not ready to meet the needs of fleet owners and extend the life of cars in a taxi: for the most popular cars in the Comfort + class, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata and the corresponding Kia K5 , aka Optima, it’s seven years . That is, 2018 cars are still possible, but 2017 is no more.

In total, we have all the conditions for the upcoming global supply reduction (read – an increase in prices and deadlines for submitting a taxi at the entrance). So-so prospect, as the taxi has become the only comfortable, convenient and affordable alternative to public transport in the traditional sense.

Nobody has faith in 2023 and changes for the better, so there are really two ways to get out of this situation: agree on a life extension, i.e. shift the worries to a conditional “tomorrow”, and parallel imports with a significant increase in the list of permitted models. The second option looks more productive because it allows you to solve the problem instead of procrastinating.

For example, the list includes the 2015 Nissan Maxima (wow, so much better than the Camry!) and the Hyundai Grandeur – no one will even remember what it looks like. Why not add the Nissan Altima to that as well? This is a large Japanese sedan that is 15mm longer and 12mm wider than our “reference” Camry. The line of engines is similar, with the exception of the legendary, but not liquid, 3.5 in a taxi. Transmission – CVT, front wheel drive. Why Nissan?

Yes, because a car of 2019 without a run in Russia will cost two million rubles. And 2018 release – 1,550,000 rubles. Wholesale is definitely cheaper. The car will certainly have time to fight back, make a profit, and the question will arise only with spare parts: they will have to be “organized” in advance, so as not to run around in search. But in online stores and markets already have.
