The main goal of the innovation is to ensure that accident-free drivers cover the losses of insurance companies in the least possible way for the damages of those who caused the accident. In addition, the problem of insufficient payment is theoretically solved, when the victims have to go to court to recover a fine from the perpetrators of the accident. Simply put, aid workers are now going to pay more. The cost of the policy is determined on the basis of several criteria: weightings are applied to the base rate according to the driver’s age and experience, as well as to the region where he lives and, in fact, the accident rate. The data is also analyzed based on the accident itself. If this was done by the driver, then the price of OSAGO will increase for him next time.

As Sergei Ershov, head of the insurance division of Gazprombank Autoleasing, told the AvtoVzglyad portal, “as a result of a similar expansion of the tariff corridor by 20% in early 2019, the average premium for OSAGO for the year actually decreased by 4.8%. At the same time, it is important to take into account that the average growth of spare parts for the repair of accident-affected cars has been 30% since the beginning of this year, and due to the expansion of the OSAGO corridor, the regulator wants insurers to compensate for this growth at the expense of the causers of accidents, for whom the cost increase of OSAGO can amount to 25%.

But trouble-free “mates”, as already mentioned, should not be afraid of an increase in the price of policies.
