The Russian car market beckons. But not those who need it
With the departure of Western and part of Asian companies, a tangible vacuum has been created in our automotive manufacturing market, which, according to the laws of physics, has begun to fill. But for some reason, our country does not attract at all those we would like. One of these “guests” was Skywell. The AvtoVzglyad portal has solved the reasons for its second coming to Russia.

Hurrah! A representative office of another Chinese brand has opened in Russia. Russian and Chinese are forever brothers, we learned that from childhood. There is joy in the camp of domestic analyst-sinophiles. They all looked through their eyes in anticipation of the moment when a cascade of Chinese cars would fall on their native land, filling the dried-up lake of our market to the top in one fell swoop. And they will sit contentedly on the bank, hide under an umbrella from the rays of well-deserved glory, and look mockingly at the West that has missed its luck.

A good picture, but the appearance on the Russian market of a new company called Skywell has nothing to do with it. Skywell specializes in the design, manufacture, sale and service of … new energy vehicles. Electric cars again and again. At the same time, the company has already tried to gain a foothold in Russia in 2020, but then something did not grow together. Now, in the opinion of his leadership, it is time to make another attempt. There is hope that the horseless people will buy whatever is offered to them.

So they bring us nothing more than – listen up! — innovative premium electric crossover ET5. For some reason, marketers in the Celestial Realm seriously believe that the Russians sleep and see – how can they buy something like this, ecologically fashionable and technically complicated. Well, how else? They were the first to launch hypersonic missiles into production…

But Chinese friends do not understand the simple truth – consumers who live 1/9 of the world’s land, it is desirable to get something cheap, reliable, safe and familiar. And that of the four definitions of the above product, the natives in the expanse from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad are interested in only one thing – a crossover. But even this attractive word loses the magic of its charm when the eye falls on the price tag. The novelty will appear in two trim levels costing 4,480,000 and 4,980,000 rubles. A diesel BMW X6 cost a few years ago, if anyone is interested.

In the first year, according to the assurances of the head of Skywell Russia, Alexander Ivanov, it is planned to sign a cooperation agreement with 30 dealers and sell up to 3,000 electric samples. That is, each dealer has to work hard on average and sell 100 cars – one every three days. And if you really follow fashion – then to the end. Skywell says its vehicles will be available online with nationwide shipping!

There is a very reasonable doubt that even these modest plans will be realized. And there is an even more reasonable suspicion that no one will seriously resist fulfilling them. The AvtoVzglyad portal has already written that Chinese manufacturers are in no hurry, like moths, to fly in the face of the Russian car market, because they are afraid to burn their wings. In addition, they seem to have trouble understanding what is going on inside the mysterious Russian soul. However, just as we do not understand the cunning Asian nature.

In the meantime, the bottom line is that businessmen from the Middle Kingdom hope to get their sickly cash out of nowhere with an iron grip. Why set up production, share technologies, when you can just push the product at obviously high prices? Gain.
