Absolutely everyone involved in heavy-duty transport was already holding their heads in March: there are no new cars, prices are rising, spare parts are running out. What cost a ruble yesterday can be offered for three tomorrow and for five the day after tomorrow. Suddenly it turned out that the warehouses are not that big, and the need is worldwide.
Many incredibly expensive devices were simply waiting for parts that never arrived. After a few months, the dealer remnants and disassembly were raked out and the stocks of “analogues” cleared. One “tightening belt” was not enough – it was necessary to “hold”. And no one canceled the plans and “construction projects” – it is construction that must become the locomotive of the entire crisis economy. So spring ended, summer passed, and autumn began.
After roaring at the moon enough, Russian logistics companies began to look again and again in the direction of Chinese heavy equipment: beloved MAN, Volvo, Skania and other Renaults slowly began to fall apart. Mercedes just disappeared and slammed the door good-bye. Service prices (read – the cost of each mile) have skyrocketed, spare parts are imported in minimal quantities, and the outlook is darker than clouds. How can you not pay attention to affordable – initially much cheaper – Chinese cars?
The first in a long list of names is Dongfeng, whose dump trucks can often be found on roads and construction sites. Today you can order DFH 3330A80 (6×4) and DFH 3440A80 (8×4) dump trucks. East Wind has a good range of DFL main tractors, which have not yet been officially presented, but are already being sold thanks to “parallel imports”, so there is a good chance that these vehicles will soon appear on the domestic market.
But in Russia, FAW main tractors and heavy trucks are officially traded, not shining with novelty, but tested and already quite popular in Russia. The company has been officially represented with us since 2007, so J6 trucks are a frequent guest on the road. Fortunately, the model line contains a large number of add-ons, both Chinese and Russian-made: from a simple board to a concrete mixer.
The heirs of Volvo Trucks, the company Dayun, also declare themselves, in the model line of which there are both diesel and “gas” cars. For example, the main tractor on compressed methane and two-axle construction machines on liquefied natural gas. In addition, in Russia the brand presents a classic “diesel” line, which includes tractors, dump trucks, garbage trucks and tank trucks.
JAC deserves a separate paragraph: the company represents the widest model line in Russia, which includes both the Gazelle competitor and heavy equipment. Officially, a pickup truck, a van, a minibus, a concrete mixer and a truck tractor can be purchased from a dealer using the full range of financial instruments. Given the huge booth at the CTT summer fair, we can safely assume that JAC wants to occupy a leading position in the Russian commercial transport market.
However, despite the bold statements and a kaleidoscope of numbers, the problem with the amount of heavy equipment needed in Russia is still unresolved. The amount that is “on hand” will not be enough for a long time. And for parallel imports, this hat is “not for Senka”: to wear it “in manual mode”, regularly with amounts of 500-600 thousand dollars, is a questionable occupation, and you will not train too much – it will cost too much . We need centralized deliveries that not only ensure deadline compliance, but also the number of spare parts and repair shops needed. In short, we cannot do without China at this historic stage.
