Chinese cars are increasingly found on Russian roads and the share of Chinese brands has already exceeded 30% of the depleted domestic new car market. However, for many of our fellow citizens, the “heavenly” segment is still a dark forest. Correspondents of the AvtoVzglyad portal were personally convinced of this by conducting a simple but extremely curious social survey.
Despite all the efforts of Chinese brand marketers and automotive journalists, who publish dozens of materials every day on RuNet, somehow related to brands from China, drivers are not very well informed about the “heavenly” car industry. This is evident from the results of our social research. We asked car owners two simple questions and were very surprised by the answers they got.
To start with, the respondents were asked to list all the car brands they know from China. Most of the time (though not as often as we expected), the survey participants remembered Chery, slightly less often Haval and Geely.
At the same time, there were totally unexpected answers – such as SsangYong (Koreans were registered as Chinese twice) and Honor. Frankly, there are cars with the same name as the smartphone manufacturer – take the Chana Honor minivan, which is presented exclusively on the home market. But he certainly didn’t mean it.
We then asked respondents to name the Chinese car brands that ‘play’ in the premium segment. And this “task” caused much more trouble than the previous one. But one representative brand from China was still remembered by the study participants.
But enough words – watch a short video from the AvtoVzglyad portal here.
