The Volvo Group (a company specializing in commercial vehicles) is seriously considering optimizing its Russian activities. As it turned out, the Swedes are already exploring various options, including the full or partial sale of the company.

The Volvo Group company almost immediately stopped its activities in Russia after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. The Swedes stopped deliveries from abroad, “frozen” all production projects carried out in the industrial park “Kaluga-South”. However, there has been no talk of a definitive withdrawal from the country so far.

Now the Volvo Group has made the decision to “adjust the company and reduce the number of employees,” an unnamed company representative told Kommersant. He noted that the future of production sites is vague – various optimization possibilities are being studied. This does not rule out the full or partial sale of assets, but no details have been disclosed so far.

Recall that today the Volvo Group has factories in Russia for the production of trucks, excavators and cabs, several service centers in different regions of the country and a customs department.
