Official representatives of the Russian office of Mercedes-Benz and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia announced the impending completion of an agreement on the sale of all local assets of the German carmaker to Avtodom. The latter was previously exclusively engaged in the distribution and maintenance of premium brand cars on the domestic market. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, judging by the statement of its deputy head Albert Karimov, is actively participating in the signing of the investment agreement. The amount and terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Representatives of the company Avtodom told the AvtoVzglyad portal that it had already taken all possible measures to maintain the service maintenance of Mercedes-Benz cars sold and operated in the Russian Federation. The company is currently in the process of selecting a technology partner to further utilize the capabilities of the Mercedes-Benz plant in the Esipovo industrial estate. In addition, Avtodom confirmed that it is not abandoning plans to organize its own industrial car assembly on the territory of the Russian Federation and the EAEU.

Recall that until February of this year Mercedes-Benz E-class sedans were assembled in Esipovo near Moscow. The technical process involved welding and body painting.
