Welcome: Another Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Competitor Has Arrived in Russia
While the official Nissan transfers the Russian factory “for preservation” and collects boxes for the exit, “gray suppliers” increase the variety and volume of deliveries of new cars. Thanks to “parallel import” we already have a new Patrol on offer and now the odious X-Terra SUV is also presented. Details are on the AvtoVzglyad portal.

Confused by last week’s news of the transfer of the Russian Nissan plant under the wing of NAMI and the total disposal of car remains, Russian fans of the brand were disheartened. The last “sorry” to quite serious discounts from the general “barrel of tar” did not help: the brand is leaving Russia, at least temporarily. There will be no central delivery of machines and spare parts certified by the importer of service and other guarantees. But there will be several models, which we have recently begun to forget. Thanks to “parallel import”.

Recently noticed in the Runet, Nissan Patrol became the first sign of the “update” of the Nissan line in Russia. The popularity of Pajero, Pajero Sport and TLC Prado led resellers to a logical idea: after all, Nissan also has a similar SUV, frame, condo, very reliable. His name is Nissan X-Terra. This is a slightly updated Nissan Terra, which is made for China, Indonesia and Thailand. By analogy with the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, X-Terra is built on the basis of a pick-up truck – respectively Nissan Navara.

The SUV is styled outwardly like the new Patrol, so it looks very, very good, in many ways even more attractive than its better-known competitors in Russia: a powerful chrome grille, LED lighting, a heavy and menacing look of diode optics from under a huge hood. Traditionally, the body is on the frame, a thru-axle at the rear and a “two lever” at the front, springs instead of leaf springs, part-time four-wheel drive. There is a rear differential lock and a low gear. In a word – an almost indestructible, terribly archaic, but incredibly reliable design. How we love.

The next step is less ambitious. Under the hood, the only possible 2.5-liter petrol engine with 165 hp – its characteristics speak not only of the low level of forcing the engine, but also of the bottomless well – mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The interior is neat, but not rich: only an 8- or 9-inch multimedia system and an additional 7-inch screen integrated into the analog instrument shell appear from the “sandwiches”. Also in rich trim levels you will find a standard set of electronic assistants: blind spot monitoring, automatic braking, following marker.

The most interesting thing for us now is the purpose of the car and the price. The car was originally made for the Middle East, with which Russia currently has the closest business relations, and costs $27,200, which in terms of the current exchange rate is 1,667,088 rubles. Added to the amount of customs clearance – another 50% – logistical and bureaucratic procedures, we get a figure of about 2,800,000 – 3,000,000 rubles.

That’s how much the car will cost in Russia, and everything outside it is in favor of the seller. At the moment, cars with a fully completed package of documents and ready for registration are on the bulletin board from 3,500,000 to 3,800,000 rubles. Trade is appropriate.
