Why China doesn’t need any of the Russian car factories abandoned by foreigners?
It has been promised that the Chinese will take the place of every car factory of car manufacturers from countries unfriendly to us and closed in Russia. The result of any venture is accompanied by a secret whisper of negotiations, agreements and promises. To many of them is added the mention of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which dreams of providing support. Our money from the budget. What will actually come out of this, explains the expert of the AvtoVzglyad portal Sergey ASLANYAN.

Renault closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Nissan closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Mercedes Benz closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Ford closed. The Chinese will take his place.

BMW closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Hyundai and Kia closed. The Chinese will take their place.

Closed VW and Skoda. The Chinese will take their place.

Toyota closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Mazda closed. The Chinese will take his place.

Mitsubishi and Stellantis closed. The Chinese will take their place.

But why would the Chinese, who sold 2,400,000 cars on their domestic market in September 1, do risky business with Russia? In a month, more cars are produced and sold in the PRC than in the Russian Federation throughout the year, and even then in the old stable times.

Now the domestic car market is less than a million tons per day. And according to projections, that will not be more than 750,000 cars by 2022. Roughly dividing the expected sales by the number of production locations, it appears that the Chinese will have to throw themselves into Russian factories because of an annual volume of slightly more than 50,000 cars produced. Why take on the burden of ridiculous production results? In addition, the reputation of Chinese manufacturers is negligible and cannot be compared to any of the brands on the list of closed companies.

But there is an illusion that not uselessly Traum, Venucia or Dorcen can knock on the Ford factory, but on a branch of the same Ford. Brillians-BMW rushes to Kaliningrad to save BMW (why haven’t they rushed yet?). And Mercedes-Benz Solnechnogorsk plant can pick up Mercedes-BAIC from China.

And then BAIC, which produces no more than 60,000 Mercedes a year at home, will produce 1,000 Mercedes in Solnechnogorsk. There is doubt that in Russia there will be people who wish even such a number, but it is unlikely that it can become more.

And there is no assurance that BAIC is willing to risk direct EU and US sanctions over 1,000 cars. Because there is no hope that Mercedes-Benz AG is ready for a blow to its reputation and a scandal at the level of the Bundestag and the US Congress.

There is no reason to believe that China needs so many dead factories in Russia. To conquer our market and our country, this is the most dubious and expensive way.

But as long as a trace of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is found near any closed factory, such complicated scenarios will ring out. The rescue of the Russian car industry is an excellent justification for budget support, which means that not a single factory will survive, but all the money will be spent.
