The Russian traffic police noticed the approach of winter: in early November, the state traffic inspection broke out with a detailed warning for drivers. The AvtoVzglyad portal got acquainted with the advice of traffic cops.
“During the off-season, the State Traffic Inspectorate calls on all road users to adjust their behavior on the road taking into account weather conditions, and drivers to be extremely careful and attentive when driving,” the traffic police said in a statement.
Employees of the department, as expected, advised to change the summer “tyres” and to memorize the “winter” driving techniques: keep a greater distance from the vehicle in front, avoid sharp maneuvers and do not exceed the speed limits. In addition, due to the frequent changes in atmospheric pressure at this time of year, the state traffic inspectorate recommended that drivers monitor their health closely. If you feel unwell, stop immediately at the side of the road and if necessary call a doctor or use public transport.
The traffic police also advised novice drivers to switch to buses and metro now, as they do not have the correct driving skills in the low season. This police advice is absolutely correct. But it is also a direct confirmation of the fact that the existing system of exams at the traffic police releases people onto public roads who do not have the required driver training level.
