The fact that they can now start producing “simplified” versions of cars in Kazakhstan, reports the portal Kolesa.kz. The decision will enter into force on November 15 and will apply until February 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan explained that they have decided to reduce the requirements for cars in order to support manufacturers that cooperate with their “northern neighbors”, which produce LADA and UAZ.
According to officials, changes will be made in the near future to Order No. 342, which approves the permissible parameters of vehicles intended for traffic on the roads of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This document banned the registration of cars with an environmental class lower than Euro-4 and without ABS in the country.
Most likely, local manufacturers will soon be able to start producing “simplified” models, including for their deliveries to Russia. For example, cheap Chevrolet, which will be brought under another brand. And AVTOVAZ will be able to organize the assembly of “exhausted” Granta and Niva in the neighboring country.
