Deputies are preparing a massive amnesty for traffic police fines for mobilized

A group of State Duma deputies proposed that administrative fines for traffic violations be withdrawn for drivers who had been drafted into the army as part of the mobilization. Portal “AvtoVzglyad” got acquainted with the draft resolution.

The bill implies the abolition of all punishment orders against mobilized Russians under the articles of the 12th chapter of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which set out penalties for traffic safety violations. Exceptions are made for articles 12.8 “Driving under the influence” and 12.26 “Failure of the driver to pass a medical examination for drunkenness.” In other words, the lifting of penalties for driving under the influence and the rejection of “purge” is not foreseen.

– Someone who has ended up in the army simply does not receive any notification of the decision. If we imagine that the citizen nevertheless somehow discovered him, it is still not clear: how to pay the fine? No ATMs are installed in the trenches. This will lead to the soldier, through no fault of his own, automatically “getting” a double fine for not paying the fine. In addition, the mobilized person does not have the opportunity to appeal against the unfair decision. In general, fines for mobilized should be reset to zero, – one of the authors of the bill, the head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, Deputy Yaroslav Nilov, told the AvtoVzglyad portal.
