Avtotor revealed plans for 2023 car production

The head of the board of Avtotor, the car assembly holding company in Kaliningrad, Valery Gorbunov, announced the company’s plans for the next year. Portal “AutoVzglyad” got acquainted with the details.

– We think we can reach the production of 50,000 cars next year on a bad option. With good development, there could be 70,000, if it is really good, then we will exceed this figure. Even this volume gives us some stability. But this is far from breaking even,” Gorbunov said.

According to him, Avtotor plans to assemble cars of three brands. About which brands there is a speech, the head of the company did not begin to specify. Although earlier the AvtoVzglyad portal reported that the Kaliningrad enterprise was preparing to launch production lines for assembling models of Chinese brands BAIC (Beijing Automotive Group) and Chery.

In addition, Gorbunov said his company is ready to resume work with BMW, Hyundai and Kia, which have stopped assembling their cars at Avtotor.

“If they want to come back, we won’t throw the water out with the baby. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the partnership’s first car. Of course, we are willing to continue cooperation on mutually beneficial terms. We have good expectations in our plans, and if this happens, then we are ready,” Gorbunov told RIA Novosti.
