A renowned scientist has pointed out that their behavior contradicts two fundamental physics theories, but researchers in the UK say they have solved the “problem”.

The paradox lies in the clash between Einstein’s general theory of relativity, which states that information about what enters a black hole cannot escape, and the concept of quantum mechanics, which makes this impossible. The stellar components leave imprints in the region’s gravitational field, known as “quantum hairs”, according to the Sussex University group that claims the resolution.

Black holes form from dead stars. Its gravitational field is so strong that not even light or electromagnetic radiation can escape – its limit is known as the event horizon.

The “hair theorem” was so named because it supposedly debunks an ancient theory known as the “baldness theorem”, which gives a mathematical description of a black hole as an entity that has mass, spin, and charge, but no other physical characteristics.

A new theorem, published in the scientific journal Physical Review Letters, claims to resolve Hawking’s paradox and change the concept of “bald”. According to the authors, information about what goes into a black hole can come out again without violating any principles of other theories, such as the properties of a region.

This would be possible due to the nature of the “quantum hair” that would allow the marks left by the stars on these cosmic “entities”.

Simplicity x complexity

Research on the paradox has been going on since Hawking proposed it, and its resolution to this day requires radical analysis – some suggest that quantum mechanics may be wrong at some points.

Behind Xavier calmnessone of the scientists in the group claiming to solve the problem, a new theorem may encounter resistance to acceptance precisely because of its “simple” solution in relation to more complex ones already studied.

“Problem solved,” he told BBC News. “However, it will take some time for people to accept them. Hawking introduced the paradox the year I was born. Therefore, it will take some time for people to accept that a radical solution is not needed.”

“One consequence of Hawking’s paradox was that general relativity and quantum mechanics were incompatible. We found that they are quite compatible,” he added.

The work of the team formed by Calmet and teachers Roberto Casadio (University of Bologna, Italy) and Stephen hsu (Michigan State University, USA) based on the research of Professor suvrat Raju, from the International Center for Theoretical Sciences, located in India. It also supports the “simple” solution.
