Audi has published teasers and details about the new Q6 crossover, which will surpass the Q7 in size. The novelty shares the MQB Evo platform with the Volkswagen Teramont and, according to new information, will receive a two-liter turbocharged TFSI EA888 series. It follows from the certification documents that the engine will be offered in two cases of forcing, for 231 or 265 horsepower. The model is focused on the Chinese market.

Teasers do not carry any new information, since the design of the Q6 (including the interior) was completely declassified back in mid-March. Then it became known that the length of the crossover will be 5099 mm versus 5063 mm for the Q7, the width is 2014 mm instead of 1970 mm, and the height is 1784 mm instead of 1741 mm. The distance between the axles is the same as that of the platform Teramont – 2980 millimeters.

For the Audi Q6, a three-row interior is announced (first seven-seater, and later six-seater, with separate seats in the second row) and rims with a diameter of 17 to 20 inches.

The Q6 engine also came from the Chinese version of Teramont: it is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that develops 186 or 220 horsepower on the Volkswagen crossover, and on the Q6 its output will be 231 or 265 horsepower. Four-wheel drive is provided.

Chinese media also mention a 299-horsepower EA390 V6 2.5 unit, also installed on the local Teramont.

The production of the Audi Q6 will be organized at the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture, where the Teramonts are assembled for the domestic market of China.
