Despite all the difficulties caused by the next crisis, the state-owned company Avtodor puts new sections of high-speed roads into operation strictly on schedule, and often even earlier. They promised to put into operation three fragments of the M12 Moscow-Kazan megaroute by the end of 2022 – they did. The latter became available to travel the day before.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has opened up traffic on the second section of the M12 Moscow-Kazan highway in the Vladimir region. On a 58.2 km long road, you can bypass the cities of Petushki, Kosterevo, Lakinsk, the villages of Peksha and Vorsha, as well as the village of Kolokshi. As for the cost, it is 229 rubles for cars and 687 for trucks. Rates are the same, they do not depend on the day of the week and time of day.
During the opening of the new stretch, the head of state also approved the proposal of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin to name the M12 Moscow-Kazan highway, which will subsequently be extended to Yekaterinburg and Tyumen, “Vostok”. Recall that it was elected by the citizens themselves during the all-Russian vote.
To date, three sections of the new highway are already available to drivers: one in the Moscow region and two in the Vladimir region. In September 2023, the state-owned company Avtodor plans to open traffic to Arzamas (Nizhny Novgorod region) and in December to Kazan. The 811km route will cut travel time by almost half – from 12 to 6.5 hours.
