The capital’s traffic police reported on the number of drivers caught giving bribes

Unfortunately, the practice of bribery by the traffic police has not yet been eradicated – this is also evidenced by the numerous complaints of drivers on social networks and forums. Nevertheless, law enforcement officials still try to pretend that an active fight against this phenomenon is underway. And another confirmation of this is a new report from the metropolitan traffic police.

According to the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate, the traffic police have detained 174 motorists since the beginning of this year for giving bribes. And in relation to 147 of them, criminal cases have already been initiated under the relevant Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Giving a bribe”. For the rest of the facts of the offense, the issue is still being resolved.

Yes a lot. But this is probably just the tip of the iceberg – the one needed for brave reports. I wonder how many cases of bribery are left out of this report.

It is clear that any driver can violate the traffic rules, disagree with the penalty provided for by the Code of Administrative Offenses and try to “negotiate on the spot”. But after all, history also knows many cases when traffic police officers deliberately set up ambushes that contradict even internal department guidelines. It is meant to fill their pockets. But why does no one keep statistics of such provocative situations?

Be that as it may, the AvtoVzglyad portal, in general, strongly advises you to observe the rules of the road and in no case “negotiate” with inspectors who circumvent the law. After all, the success of the fight against bribery depends on us.
