The last small batch of LADA Largus station wagons left the Togliatti factory assembly line six months ago. The situation with Vesta’s release is no better. AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov announced the exact date for the resumption of production of these models. Portal “AutoVzglyad” found out the details.

— We plan to expand the production line of our cars: both Vesta cars and traditional LCV Largus cars from September next year. We are also working on new car models, including the creation of our own domestic electric car,” Sokolov said in an interview with Russian TV channel 24.

Remember that the production of LADA Largus and Vesta actually came to naught due to problems with the supply of components. Due to this, the last batch of “Largus” in the amount of 1800 vehicles was produced already in July 2022. As for Vesta, its assembly was suspended in the spring. It was decided to transfer the flagship model of the Izhevsk plant to Tolyatti. And they promised that the assembly line would start in March 2023.

Sokolov’s statement about the postponement to September most likely indicates that testing and certification of some components will be completed only by the end of next summer, without which the production of both models is impossible. Maybe we are talking about ABS systems or airbags. Although, on the other hand, the absence of these components does not prevent AvtoVAZ from assembling and sending to customers “simplified” LADA Granta and Niva models.

Apparently, the problems in the production of Largus and Vesta are associated with the lack of some parts, without which the car, in principle, cannot move – for example, lighting equipment, transmission parts, steering or, for example, the dashboard.
