KamAZ resumed production of K4 and K5 series trucks

0

One of the largest Russian automakers – KamAZ – resumes assembly of models of the K4 and K5 generations, as reported by the company’s press service. Cars are made from leftover parts. But what will happen after the spare parts run out remains a mystery.

It is expected that some 10,600 heavy trucks of two generations will roll off the assembly line. At the same time, the main efforts will be focused on the K5 line. We also note that it is currently 70-80% localized. This was achieved because the factory workers have been engaged in import substitution projects for quite some time.

From next year, those components and assemblies that are not available in Russia will be supplied from friendly countries. This could solve the problem of supply chain disruption.

Recall that this year, due to sanctions and the subsequent withdrawal of Western partners, the future of K5 trucks was in doubt.

The plant itself was in a difficult position. At the end of the fall, he reduced production by more than 8%.
