Technological progress, unfortunately, has not only obvious pluses, but also minuses. For example, arrow-shaped temperature gauges on the instrument panel are gradually becoming a thing of the past. The maximum that is – a control lamp, and even that only lights up when overheating. And downloading a special program to a smartphone, then regularly connecting it to your favorite vehicle via a standard diagnostic connector, is a long process. And most drivers won’t. What to focus on?

First, we recall that the “heart” of a car is considered fully warmed up when all parts and fluids have reached operating temperature. Antifreeze does this the fastest. The process can be seen by the movement of the corresponding arrow on “cleaned up”. The “cooler” heats the upper part of the engine, that is, parts such as the cylinder head and pistons. The oil in the pan heats up much more slowly.

Therefore, it is best to look at the needle of the tachometer, because all modern “iron horses” are equipped with the so-called warm-up mode. Immediately after starting, the electronic control unit slightly overestimates the speed and then reduces it as the coolant temperature rises.

For example, on Russian models, at an idle speed of 1100 rpm, the degree of heating of the antifreeze reaches 30 degrees. As a result, the grease is not thick and the pump has already pumped it through the entire system. The thickness of the protective film on the rubbing surfaces is sufficient.

In foreign cars, we recommend focusing on the 1000 rpm. However, do not rush to press the gas to the floor, because the car also has an inverter. He is the last to bounce back. Therefore, in the first minutes of the journey, move smoothly and without sudden accelerations. This way you extend the “lifetime” of expensive nodes.
