It turns out that Afghanistan had a chance to become a normal country. For the first time in millennium. Falling under American control for twenty years. This time was enough to start the processes of civilization formation and signs of human life in Afghanistan. One of the late results was… a car. The American influence turned out to be quite traditional: people wanted a nice car, and not just jeans and chewing gum. And the Afghans made themselves the first and last car in history: the first and last in the 21st century and other centuries. At the same time managed to acquire a small number of suitable attributes: a design studio, an advertising agency, video films, a screenwriter, a cameraman …
The car is called Mada 9, which forever leaves an aftertaste of an uninvolved Japanese Mazda, creating the illusion of a typo, hint, or ignorance. The authors of the project are the design studio ENTOP. In addition to a supercar of a completely finished appearance with a not very violent Islamism in appearance, the world received a series of presentation videos made with taste, skill and irony.
On the road, littered with used cartridges, clearly hinting at the hopelessness of Afghan history, a full-blooded Afghan appears in the traditional clothes of a dushman – a tunic, arafatka, trousers, army boots. He is very neatly trimmed, shaved, has a well-groomed beard and has just been pulled from a barrel of clay mud. Unfortunately, for most of the timing, the Afghan sits in smoke on some rubble, drinking from an American bottle, spitting, listening to something in an old radio. Then it goes into an empty frame, where a car is guessed under the branded bedspread.
The dirty Afghan pulls off the covers and beneath it shines with convincing blackness a brilliant car. The Afghan walks slowly around the car, looks at it and pulls the handle, opens the door… Symbolism and bitterness in every frame, in every gesture, in every second. There are a few more technical videos with explanations and the usual image of Afghan horror: a black sports car drives past wild ghosts in the terrifying and ugly guise of the Taliban (an organization recognized as a terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation).
Technically, this Mada is pretty ordinary. Although acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is claimed in 3.5 seconds, this hints at the presence of an engine, gearbox and engineering considerations.
But the most valuable thing about a car is its country of origin. The idea of the design studio ENTOP amazed the world. Her project is the greatest surprise on earth in this century. If America had enough for another ten years, Afghanistan would have a chance not only to make a second car, but to become a fit country to live in.
