The first three months of the coming year promise to be a real business nightmare for domestic car dealers. On this occasion, the Russian Automobile Dealers Association (ROAD) issued a panic statement. Portal “AutoVzglyad” got acquainted with its content.
– The drop in turnover in the first quarter will amount to more than 40% for the time being. That is, based on the current situation, the market volume will be less than 150,000 cars. January will sink the most: last year more than 90,000 cars were sold in the first month, now we can expect half that, according to the ROAD.
Recall that at the end of last year, representatives of this organization made a statement about the critical depletion of stocks of cars of domestic car dealers. Then it was reported that they had no more than 20,000-30,000 new cars of foreign brands (not including the “Chinese”). According to ROAD estimates, these stocks will not last more than a month of sales. At the same time, the greatest shortage has arisen in the mid-price category of cars.
Meanwhile, the AEB forecast states that the Russian car market will grow by 12% in 2023 compared to 2022. Sales should increase from 687,000 passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in 2022 to 770,000 vehicles sold next year.
