The car does not start: how to solve the problem with a gas burner

A spark plug is the simplest, it would seem, consumable, which is “swap and forget”. However, there are situations in life when it is not possible to apply

The car repair and maintenance manual tells us drivers that spark plugs should be replaced strictly according to regulations. Ordinary ones should go at least 30,000 km, and expensive iridium ones – up to 90,000 km. However, I forgive everyone to whom I owe it: poor quality fuel and engine oil, worn engines and dirty filters, as well as an incredible number of fake spare parts that lead to no one ever knowing how long the part will last. last.
The ‘moment of truth’ usually happens in the wrong place at the wrong time. Before leaving the dacha, in the morning for work or just on the road, the “spark source” refuses to fulfill its direct duties, forcing the driver to run to the store or turn on his head. Sometimes the car does not start even at gas stations. Don’t trot, don’t moan, but show no sign of life at all. And then what to do?
It is not always possible to buy a new candle: there is simply no shop within walking distance. And the rural “shopping center” is not at all obliged to have a rare consumable for a specific engine. Remember that all candles are different, and the operation of the internal combustion engine directly depends on the “hit accuracy”. So how to do it?
Turn first and look at the cause of the accident. It is rare that the candle breaks in half, the electrode burns out completely or the leg bends suddenly. Much more often the reason lies in overflow or in soot. You can rub with a cloth, never with an iron brush or sandpaper. And in order to remove particularly deep-seated dirt or a thick layer of a mixture of oil and gasoline, which for some reason does not want to quickly evaporate in the cold, the candle must be lit.
To do this, you can use a burner – compact versions are sold at any gas station – a stove burner and even an intelligent lighter. The main thing is to warm it up so that the slag and other layers fall off. After that it is possible to use a cloth and cleanly remove all layers. Will it work later? Of course it will work, because nothing stands in the way of creating a spark.
Candles in Russia do not change through wear, that is, not through the full development of the promised resource, but through service life or appearance. It is not easy to say exactly, but ¾ of the replaced parts would easily reach 5000 – 7000 km. Now that the cost of spare parts has risen sharply, and a simple “just in case” replacement is no longer as affordable as before, it would be nice to understand the problem and try to use each consumable not for 70-80, but with 100%. This is the most reasonable economy.
