We periodically conduct a kind of “consumer inspection” of large car trading complexes or locations where dealers of different brands “bundle” together. And since we are “physicists”, he can’t sell us this frugal Vesta. For example, AVTOVAZ itself prohibits this. We chuckled respectfully in response, not understanding anything, but “passed” the topic.

They did not understand so much that the next day they turned to the official representatives of AVTOVAZ for clarification. The above story aroused genuine surprise and genuine interest in our interlocutor. Because the sale of natural gas vehicles is subsidized by the state. And the more of them are implemented in someone’s hands, the more profitable for the automaker, that is, the auto giant Tolyatinsky. Accordingly, there were no instructions limiting the sale of “gas” LADA to Russian dealers of the manufacturer’s brand.

After several calls and clarifications, we got the most likely reason for the “ban on the sale of Vesta CNG to private individuals” at the Major dealer.

Apparently, the car in question was originally part of a lot intended for sale under a contract with a legal entity. The deal (apparently!) fell through, and the sedan, as they say, “hanged” in the dealer’s warehouse. And it is still listed in the trading company’s databases as intended for “yuri”.

To formalize the sale of the ill-fated LADA Vesta CNG to an individual, the employees of the autotrading organization must make some additional “gestures” with the documents. What they can’t or won’t do. But the stray client is not supposed to know about this. It is much easier to hang on his ears and spread noodles on “AVTOVAZ forbidden”. It sounds as mysterious and concrete as the phrase “God’s will for all.” For a manager, this is a win-win response. Because an ordinary car owner will surely believe in the inexplicable quirks of a domestic car manufacturer.
