Freeze of Toyota activities in Russia is partially canceled. This became known during the lawsuit of the Public Consumer Initiative (OPI) and Rospotrebnadzor against the local representative of a Japanese company. Portal “AutoVzglyad” found out the details.

Last spring, Toyota suspended its operations in Russia due to political circumstances and serious logistical problems. Meanwhile, most spare parts for Toyota and Lexus were not subject to sanctions then, just as they are not applied now. In an effort to protect the rights of countless Russian owners of Japanese cars, OPI and Rospotrebnadzor filed a lawsuit against the Russian branch of the brand’s omission.

Toyota Motor LLC, which “defended” the claims, filed a written statement with the court. It says it is making every effort to ensure the functioning of the Russian dealer network of Toyota and Lexus and to meet the interests of domestic car owners. In addition, Toyota Motor LLC stated in court that it had started the independent import of spare parts and components to Russia. As proof of this, the representatives of the company have provided the relevant customs documents. The hearing in question took place in mid-December 2022, Izvestia reports.
