Tesla released last Wednesday (25) its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2022.

With the figures disclosed, there was a 49% drop in free cash flow, resulting in $1.4 billion, but the year ended with the company’s net income of $12.6 billion.

Tesla continued to grow in 2022

Check out some of Tesla’s numbers published in the financial report:

• The company’s revenue was $24.3 billion, up 37% from the fourth quarter of 2021;
• The largest share is in revenue from the automotive industry, which is $21.3 billion, up 33% from the fourth quarter of 2021;
• This translates into net income of $3.7 billion for the fourth quarter of 2022, up 59% from the fourth quarter of 2021;
• Automotive revenue up 51% year-on-year to $71.5 billion;
• Total revenue increased by the same percentage compared to last year to $81.4 billion. Operating expenses were $7.2 billion;
• Tesla ended the year with a net income of $12.6 billion.
• Tesla’s Full Self Driving beta service has earned $324 million and has 400,000 users in the US and Canada.
• Tesla’s solar energy program deployed 6.5 GWh of batteries, up 64% from last year.

According to Ars Technique, “In 2022, Tesla built 1,369,611 vehicles, 1,298,434 of which were Model 3 or Y. This represents a 43% increase in production of these models compared to last year. But in total, it was only able to find homes for 1,313,851 vehicles – while that was a 40% increase from last year, it was less than the 50% year-on-year growth that the automaker promised investors. Moreover, this means that Tesla has more than 71,000 electric vehicles because they have not been sold.”

Tesla remains optimistic, with a goal of 50% annual growth but with reservations, knowing that “some years we may grow faster and others slower” and aims to deliver about 1.8 million vehicles per year. 2023. Another novelty of this year is the start of Cybertruck production in Texas.
