Mercedes-Benz decided to “bury” 14 models at once.

The German automaker decided to completely scrap the model line, saving it from station wagons, coupes and even crossovers. Which models will Mercedes-Benz lose, the AvtoVzglyad portal found out.

According to Car&Driver, of the 33 models available in the European market and in the US, half will be consigned to the dustbin of history. We are talking about 14 cars, including the GLC Coupé, GLE Coupé, CLS, CLE and the recognized illiquid sports car AMG GT.

Models will disappear from the product line from next year. The first will be the Mercedes-Benz CLS, then the infamous AMG GT will sink into oblivion and a few years later the universal C-Class Estate will follow. The same fate awaits the “barn” in the E-class family. The latter is the forthcoming iteration of the Collective Labor Agreement.

Remember that Mercedes is not the first brand to decide to “optimize” its costs by reducing the lineup. According to the Financial Times, Volkswagen will therefore refuse to produce cars in the budget and mid-range segment. But on the other hand, he dreams of increasing margins by producing more profitable products. Particularly Audi and Porsche.
