Recently, other Chinese sedans were certified in Russia under the names Chery Arrizo 5 Plus, Chery Arrizo 6 and Omoda S5. At the same time, a number of auto experts suggested that, in fact, the same model is hiding under these names, only the Chinese have not yet decided under which brand they will sell it. But, as the AvtoVzglyad portal found out, these are actually two different cars, one of which goes to the Chery brand, and the other to Omoda.
So Chery Arrizo 5 Plus, Chery Arrizo 6, S5 and Omoda S5 are not one car in different trim levels, but models that are completely different from each other. So, at least, the director of JSC Chery Automobiles Rus, Vladimir Shmakov, told the AvtoVzglyad portal:
— This year, our plans include expanding the model range of brands owned by Chery and simultaneously launching several new products in the domestic market, including, of course, sedans. And, most likely, they appear both under the Chery brand and under Omoda. But these will be completely different models, each of which is technologically advanced and unique in its own way. As for the timing of their appearance, in today’s reality, when everything changes every day, it is very difficult to make accurate predictions. But we are doing everything we can to ensure that new items appear in Russia as soon as possible …
Note that in China, the line of Chery sedans is quite extensive, and not only Arrizo 5 Plus, but also Arrizo 8 can come to Russia, and the latter will go under the wing of Omoda.
