Toyota has denied official spare parts deliveries to Russia

Some third-party organizations are engaged in the import of spare parts for Toyota and Lexus cars into Russia, and Toyota Motor does not know about this. This, in a nutshell, is the position of the Japanese concern. The AvtoVzglyad portal provides the text of the company’s official statement on this subject.

— Our company has not resumed supplying parts to Russia, this is not true. However, in Russia, car maintenance is carried out as much as possible with parts that can be obtained there without violating sanctions, – quotes the words of a representative of Toyota Motor TASS.

Recall that at the end of January 2023, a letter was leaked to the press signed by the general director of the department for the supply of spare parts and warehouse operations of the Russian office of Toyota Motor Andrey Shcherbakov, addressed to domestic partners. It said that at the end of 2022, the Japanese company started again to import parts for the repair of Toyota and Lexus cars that are not subject to Western sanctions in our country. It was also reported that the brand’s Russian representative office gave the green light to its dealers for the parallel import of spare parts that were prohibited.

Recall that in the early fall of 2022, Toyota Motor officially announced the decision to completely liquidate its assembly plant in St. Petersburg, where it produced the Toyota Camry sedan and the Toyota RAV4 crossover.
