Sturgeon of the third freshness: why Haval H6 is completely “rotten” for Russia
In China, the third generation of the Haval H6 crossover is quite in demand, and in our country it is not even officially presented – because the Russian office of the brand has not been able to decide whether to release the model for almost three years to the domestic market or not. However, it is not surprising, because there are a lot of questions about the car – the company clearly understands that it has no prospects here. And indeed it is. And why, explains the portal “AvtoVzglyad”.

The mid-size crossover H6 appeared in our country in 2015 and remained the brand’s bestseller until 2020. Suppose it accounted for more than half of the demand in 2019. But deliveries were stopped, as the F7 model located in Tula turned out to be cheaper. The Chinese clearly didn’t want to engage in internal cannibalism, so they shook up their line. Incidentally, the H6 was already far from new then. In China, he survived a generation change and we sold the “old man”.

Now there are rumors again about the arrival of H6 in our market. Well, what about it: the third generation of the “cross” was presented in Kazakhstan, and dealers have already brought several copies of parallel imports. Talks about the upcoming launch were also fueled by the Chinese themselves – polls on social networks (the AvtoVzglyad portal talked about this). But what was it? Hidden confirmation of assumptions or a primitive trick to captivate the audience?

PIRANHA CLUB

Technically, the Haval H6 is related to the Dargo, but with a radically different body design. It is as much as 32 mm longer, although the wheelbase is the same – 2738 mm. That is, the “six” can compete with both the “Dargo” and the F7 / F7x. This is clearly what brand marketers fear.

If we talk about other brands, let’s single out Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Geely Atlas Pro and Changan CS75 – there are many opponents. Let’s add models that can be found in both car dealerships and the secondary market: Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Outlander and Skoda Kodiaq. And we get the result – Haval H6 gets into a piranha club, where it is simply eaten.

WEAK POINTS

Let’s move on. The potential “novelty” has all-wheel drive, but only in the top configuration and only with a 2-liter engine (204 hp) and a seven-speed “robot”. Cars with a junior 1.5 liter engine (150 hp) are monodrive. There is a minimum of differences with Chery Tiggo 7 Pro. At the same time, the variator works in the “seven” and tolerates traffic jams better than a robot gearbox.

By the way, it is better not to let the “six” with all the leaders go off-road. The clearance is only 190 mm, the geometric cross is clearly inferior to Dargo, and the clutch does not like long slips. How many disadvantages have we already counted?

As for the engines, they are both supercharged, that is, charged. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid overheating, otherwise they can easily be “dumped”. A multi-link scheme was used in the rear suspension. And I remember earlier H6 being criticized for excessive softness and glitches – no matter how it was inherited.

FOGGY OUTLOOK

Based on the above, let’s assume: if the representative office brings us the “six”, then it fails. Only, of course, it is unlikely to be brought. By the way, the AvtoVzglyad portal asked about the company’s plans for the H6, but the Russian office of the brand ignored our call in the usual way.

And why is the third generation unlikely to hit showrooms? Yes, because there is no point in launching this model. The fact is that Haval is already preparing a fourth-generation crossover for the premiere – the day before, photos of a car with an unusual appearance appeared on the Internet. So it would make much more sense to wait and take it to Russia. On the other hand, Haval’s policies have never made sense…
