Car manufacturers in Russia will again have to install ABS and Euro-2 engines in cars

From November 1, 2023, car manufacturers may again be required to install an anti-lock braking system on cars produced in our country, as well as engines not lower than the Euro-2 environmental class. Changes to the technical regulations are in preparation.

This is in any case suggested by the presentation of improvements to the technical regulation “On the safety of wheeled vehicles”. According to Gazeta.ru, the requirements can be approved by government decree and will become mandatory for carmakers from November 1, 2023.

Now we recall that there are simplified requirements for the production of vehicles, which allow them to be produced without ABS, ESP, as well as airbags and with engines of any environmental class, starting with Euro-0.

Meanwhile, it became known that President Vladimir Putin may announce something extremely important for the population on February 21. In particular for the Russian automotive industry. Read more here.
