How cunning Russians elegantly cheat the “brains” of the new Mercedes and BMW
Some German brands seem to have denied Russian gas stations access to their software. However, the vaunted German electronics give in to domestic craftsmen. And so that even the “officials” do not notice traces of outside interference in the software of premium cars. The AvtoVzglyad portal understands the nuances of modern maintenance of cool cars.

In recent years, the owners of premium “Germans” have been constantly brought up with the idea that their cars are very complex and highly automated, and therefore they can only be serviced at gas stations officially approved by the manufacturer. Therefore, for example, even the brake pads of modern Mercedes, BMW and other German “premium” cannot simply be taken and replaced. Once installed, they must also be registered in the electronic “brain” of the machine using proprietary software linked to the headquarters in Germany.

Of course, the cheap “non-original” will not be missing. Only “native” Mercedes or BMW – with wild brand markings! And also you cannot replace an “empty” battery with an unbranded one, and you will have to buy a split headlight not where you want, but only from an “official” one – with an appropriate price tag.

For example, people who have not come across the “jokes” of German premium cars do not even realize that they enter the so-called crash mode after an accident. It blocks the engine from starting, supposedly so that no one can create a danger to others by driving a broken down car. In fact, this was done to force the car owner to repair for big money exclusively on a company service, where this crash will be filmed. And not at an ordinary service station, where exactly the same faults are resolved for an appropriate amount.

Now in Russia “officials” maintain customers’ cars for very obscene money – referring to the problems and difficulties associated with sanctions. Therefore, many Russian lovers of “premium” prefer to even switch to a new “Chinese” – if only they stopped messing with the “Germans”. And completely in vain. Recently, in our country, at least in large metropolitan areas, services for “coding” Mercedes and BMW cars have blossomed. Cunning Russian specialists in automotive electronics have mastered cheating on branded service programs so well that even at official service stations no one notices anything.

Literally reprogram everything possible. Replacing pads and “batteries” – it’s just “seeds”! In addition, you can chip-tune the engine, “dock” used electronic components with the car, Russify vehicles from other markets, activate all possible “sleep” options – up to the design of the “tidy” in the style of AMG -or M- packages. They provide a sport mode in the transmission and disable the Mercedes diesel chip – the injection of environmentally friendly urea into the exhaust system. In addition, they remove the “error” that appears when the catalytic converter is removed and disable crash mode after an accident.

And now much, much more is done in Russian unofficial gas stations. And it’s cheap. For each disabled lock (or vice versa, for enabling an additional option), the car owner will be charged 500-1000 rubles. More than acceptable compensation for the absence of artificial problems with the operation of a good machine within the foreseeable future.
