With the introduction of the X-Trail e-POWER, Nissan continues to shape the future of electric mobility in Latin America.

Nissan Importers Business Unit (NIBU), Nissan’s business unit focused on supporting importers in 34 Latin American markets, announced at an event in Colombia the arrival of the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, the brand’s first vehicle in the region that includes this unique motor technology.

The Nissan X-Trail e-POWER features a 100% electric propulsion system that delivers powerful starts and immediate response with instant torque, offering passengers a linear acceleration experience and an exhilarating driving experience.

Exclusive to Nissan, e-POWER technology represents a powerful alternative for the region, delivering outstanding features such as:

• Functioning: With e-POWER, the vehicle includes a 100% electric propulsion system that is responsible for the movement of the vehicle’s wheels. Vehicles with e-POWER technology are equipped with an electric power generator that is powered by a small gasoline engine to continuously recharge a high-performance lithium-ion battery.

• Autonomy: With this system, Nissan e-POWER vehicles do not need to be plugged into a power source, allowing unlimited autonomy without being dependent on any charging infrastructure. In the e-POWER system, the gasoline engine is not connected to the wheels, it is only responsible for recharging the battery, which supplies voltage to the electric motor to generate torque and power. Thus, according to the approval data, the e-POWER offers a range of more than 900 kilometers in the city.

The Nissan X-Trail e-POWER integrates a 1.8 kW battery and the latest generation three-cylinder VCR Turbo internal combustion engine as a generator, which is more powerful and efficient; while its electric motor, which is responsible for driving the wheels of the car, has a power of 205 hp. and a torque of 243 lb-ft.
