Until recently, the State Duma did nothing but devise and approve all new sanctions for drivers. But now a real miracle has happened – the deputies have canceled one of the most dubious punishments for motorists. Portal “AutoVzglyad” tells about a symbolic event.
People’s deputies have adopted in final form an amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which cancels the fine for exceeding the permissible dimensions of transport up to 10 centimeters, if such a violation is captured by the camera of the traffic police. It’s about art. 12.21.1. of the Code – “Violation of the rules for moving a heavy and (or) large vehicle.” According to them, this decision of the State Duma will make it possible to “avoid unreasonable and unfair fines for truck drivers, as well as eliminate corruption risks due to the imperfection of the legal standard affected”.
Recall that the letter of the law, which is still in force, provides fines of 1,000-1,500 rubles for the driver and 150,000 rubles for the owner of the vehicle. The removal of the “automatic” fine for “too big” was prompted by numerous instances where the cameras were considered a violation of the tarpaulin canopy of a heavy trailer dangling in the wind.
