Jeep Canada has launched a new Jeep Code feature. It allows you to scan Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille via the Snapchat smartphone app. In fact, the bars act as a barcode, unique for each model, with which the program recognizes the car. Jeep hopes that this way of “dating” will interest young people who are used to virtual shopping.

By enabling Snapchat, users will be able to point the camera at any Jeep they like. Using augmented reality technology, a platform trained with machine learning will determine the model.

Then the potential customer will be able to learn more about the car, open the configurator, view the equipment, find the nearest dealer, and even proceed with the purchase.

Jeep believes that this simplification of the process, which makes it impossible to find the right model on your own, can attract young consumers by “quick connecting” to cars.

Jeep Code was launched a couple of weeks after the appearance of long-wheelbase versions in the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer range – Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L. They differ by an increased wheelbase by 178 millimeters, body length and trunk volume. Also, the new products got a new Hurricane 3.0 biturbo. On the Wagoneer L, it develops 426 horsepower and 635 Nm of torque, on the Grand Wagoneer L – 517 forces (678 Nm).
