“Avtotor” for a long time – from May 1 to May 22 – will stop the production of cars. Paid leave is announced for employees, but some units continue to work. In particular, the Kaliningrad plant will continue to build new capacities and create electric vehicles.
Recall that after the start of the special operation in Ukraine, a wide range of sanctions were introduced against Russia. In particular, international logistics companies refuse to send their ships to the port of Kaliningrad.
The current situation forced Avtotor to devise a new logistics route: from Busan in Korea by sea to Bremerhaven in Germany, from there – after reloading – to Kaliningrad. Because of this, Korean cars have become fabulously expensive for Russians.
